STUDENT-SPECIFIC SERVICE NEEDS

  • EVALUATION and needs assessment of the student - we use Joy Zabala's S.E.T.T. Framework (Student, Environments, Tasks, Tools) to advise the evaluation, implementation, and progress monitoring processes.

  • Identification of skills, strengths, and barrier to performance.

 

  • Consideration of ENVIRONMENTAL factors and TASKS within those environments that the student needs or wants to do.

 

  • Identification of low, mid, and/or high-tech assistive technology supports or "TOOLS"

 

  • Implementation and consultation for use of AT tools across environments and tasks

 

  • Education, skills TRAINING, application STRATEGY development, and TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE to the student and team to foster independent use and generalization of AT tools

 

  • Assistance with funding options

 

  • Ongoing, DATA-BASED MONITORING of AT effectiveness, needs changes, and follow-up consultations

TEAM-ORIENTED SERVICES

In addition to student-specific needs, we work with educational teams to develop professional skills and competencies. These services can include identifying what current AT trends and technologies available, introductory-advanced training on AT tools, refining and/or defining a system's AT processes, and consulting on implementation across subject areas to develop strategic competency.

OUR AT TOOLBOX FOR COMPLEX LEARNERS
