Owner, Occupational Therapist, Assistive Technology Specialist

Alescia Ford MS OTR/L, ATP

Alescia is an experienced pediatric occupational therapist and assistive technology specialist. She is the founder and owner of Adapt + Learn who supervises her clinical team between clinical and community-based services. In addition to managing the practice, Alescia conducts Independent Educational Evaluations and school-based consultations for OT + AT needs throughout Connecticut.  Click here for more information on Alescia's professional background and focus.

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Angela Kennedy COTA/L

Angela brings great energy, enthusiasm, and experience working with kids in schools and therapeutic riding settings. Angela has a bachelor's degree in equine studies and specialty certification in therapeutic riding. Most weekends, you can find Angela at the barn or hanging out with her dogs.

Alyssa DeLeone MS OTR/L

Alyssa brings school-based and sensory integration experiences to Adapt + Learn's team. Alyssa works between clinical and community locations with a strong focus on our school-age learners, and teen/young adult population. Alyssa enjoys targeting functional and academic skills within her practice. Most weekends, you can find her beach-side with a book or enjoying time with her family.

Nicole Thibault OTR/L

Ms. Nikki is our newest team member, joining our practice in September 2023! She brings school-based experience and enjoys working with the littlest learners, finding countless opportunities to create fun within play! You can find Nikki between our two locations and each Saturday in Simsbury.

Adapt & Learn is simply the best - so responsive and communicative which put me at ease as a worried mom. Each of the therapists that worked with my son took time to get to know him to put him at ease and make therapy fun. My son looked forward to OT every week! They were sure to keep us informed on his progress and how to foster more growth at home, too. I couldn't recommend anyone more highly than Alescia & her team at Adapt & Learn.

Working with Alescia has been life changing. My daughter has worked with several other AT specialists but no one before was invested in assuring that she gained competence and independence. Alescia would sit side by side with her and go step by step to assure she had a true understanding and streamlined process. She was always available to troubleshoot so my daughter developed the confidence to try things on her own. Alescia was invaluable in communicating with the school district and assuring that school staff was up to speed on my daughter's unique approach. She also generously offered trainings for our SEPTA so parents and school professionals were able to learn about AT options to help their students. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

We have been very happy with our experience at Adapt and Learn. The entire staff is knowledgable, kind and helpful. The facility is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Our therapist established a great rapport with our child instantly and going to OT is something our child honestly looks forward to each week. Everyone is really helpful with questions, offering strategies, navigating insurance and even occupying siblings.

We had a wonderful experience working with Adapt and Learn. My little girl *loved* going to OT, just as much as she loves going to soccer and dance, maybe even more so. She received amazing care from Angela and Alescia and grew so much during her year in treatment. They get the big picture and treat the whole child so well. I adore this practice and know that anyone who works with them will as well.
